팬톤이 2016년 올해 컬러에 로즈쿼츠와 세레니티를 선정했다. 그 중 핑크빛의 로즈쿼츠는 트렌트임을 증명하듯 다방면에서 진가를 발휘하며 예술계에도 핑크빛이 가득한 전시를 통해 맥락을 이어가고 있다. 이번 전시 ‘핑크빛으로 물들다’ 는 지프트 작가의 첫 개인전으로 색상이 지니는 힘을 강렬하게 보여준다. 핑크색을 중심으로 한 그라데이션을 통해 점층적인 확대와 축소를 이용하여 단계적으로 일관성있게 변화를 선보인다. 색은 합리적인 사고가 설명해주지 못하는 것을 전달하고 암시적인 언어작용을 도와 감성을 불어넣어 준다. 핑크색이 전달하는 부드러움과 평온함은 작가의 일상적 오브제에 덧입혀져 특별한 상징성을 가지게 된다. 상징성이 담긴 핑크색은 작가의 흔적이 닿아있는 작품과 소품 등 전시장 다양한 영역에서 자연스럽게 반복하며 메시지를 전달한다. 일상적 사물을 작가만의 색채 방식으로 환기시키며 소재의 중요성을 보여주는 전시장은 작품의 확장판으로 그림 속 한 장면 속에 들어온 것 같은 느낌을 자아낸다. 일러스트레이터의 흔적이 녹아든 색의 공간을 ‘토이 리퍼블릭’ 에서 만나보자.
Pantone has chosen ROSE QUARTZ and SERENITY, the color for 2016. In art world, many exhibitions are using pink color, which proves the influence of ROSE QUARTZ as its trendiness. This exhibition, ‘Colored by Pink’ is artist ZIFT’s first private exhibition, which shows the intense power each color has. The artist shows the difference by equal step using gradual extension and reduction of gradation based on pink color. Color explains the field which reasonable thought could not identify and inspires emotion by helping implicative linguistic action. Pink color, which has its own warmth and serenity, gets its special symbolism colored by the artist’s daily object. Each artwork and objects affected by this pink color with symbolism keep on sending message naturally in diverse spaces inside this showroom. Every part of the showroom shows the object by its importance due to artist’s color techniques. And it gives us the feeling to be in a scene of art, the expansion of an artist’s artwork.
